Do you find it difficult to stick to a training schedule?

It can be tough to find time in your day for work, family and training. But, at KatzMMA, your training times are flexible. If you can’t make your regular session, join another group at a time that suits you with no penalties or fines.

Are you feeling stressed out?

When life gets a little rough, your flight or fight instinct kicks in. If you don’t do something about it, stress builds up and causes all sorts of physical and mental problems. Get it out.

Do you lack confidence or feel frustrated when dealing with your co-workers or your boss?

Conflict might have a bad reputation but it’s also inevitable. All of us have to deal with conflict, either with another person, or within ourselves.

Our specialised training teach you to be comfortable with conflict, by improving and resulting in more self-confidence, clarity and tranquillity. A potent combination.

Our training is real in the sense that you’re able to fight a resisting, competitive opponent. Training that is too co-operative can create a false sense of achievement. Subconsciously, a person would be aware of that, and their confidence would be hinged on ego. The confidence we develop comes with humility through real training, with contact levels and pace individualised to each client to push the boundaries of the comfort zone, but not into the panic zone.

Is the pace getting to you?

Training the mind to be calm in high-pressure situations filters through to all areas of your life. Through training in the correct environment – progressively increasing difficulty, being free of ego and focusing on growth – and with the right guidance, you can develop clarity within the chaos.

In this way, the ‘volume’ on life gets turned down, enabling you to deal with the non-stop pace of life more easily. Trying to keep pace does not exhaust your mind, in the same way that the moon doesn’t become exhausted when its reflection constantly moves with the waves.

Do you want to ramp up your energy levels?

Exercise is critical for developing endurance and enhancing energy levels. It’s good for you, full stop.

Do you crave down time with friends?

As humans, we enjoy interacting with other people. Training is great way to form lasting friendships, as you get to know the people you train with. It lets you form bonds with one anther as you help each other with the training.

Do you remember the feeling of getting really good at something?

It’s fundamentally satisfying to begin practicing something that is difficult, overcome that difficulty and eventually be able to perform it smoothly. Remember how good it felt when you progressed from learning to drive to being able to sit in your car and let your body take care of the details? Facing and overcoming a challenge is a driving force for us, and one of the fundamental sources of satisfaction.

When you combine this driving force with something as instinctive as fighting (remember, fighting is one of the four Fs: food, friends, fighting and… procreation), you will absolutely boost your self-esteem and enhance your wellbeing.

Training wakes me up in the morning so I shake off feeling a bit tired and I’m awake and ready for the day.
